What’s your name?
My name is Björn Landén
How old are you?
27 years of age
What do you do for a living?
I work as a full-time beard products producer at Mr Bear Family Grooming Co. I started the company in 2012 and since then it has pretty much taken up all my time. There were no Swedish beard products at that time and it wasn’t that easy to get your hands on any other products either so i just decided to start making my own.
It started as a side project during my brewer studies and the plan were to finish my studies and then continue to work as a brewer. But the business just kept growing and only a year after I had started as a brewer I had to give it up and put all my focus on Mr Bear Family. During that year Sandra Hansson, my beloved partner, had quit her job to be able to work full-time with MBF.
Having your own company don’t give you that much spare time. So, whenever there is time I try to focus more on some of my passions here in life, Surfing, Food, Beer and board games (yeah, there is a little nerd underneath the beard). All of these things, with the people that I care about the most, that´s quality time for me!
How long have you had your beard and why?
To get back to the bearded part. I started to grow a beard when I was 17. Since then I have pretty much never been completely without a beard. Sure, the first years it was mostly just a stubble but the last couple of years it has been either a big old moustache or a full grown beard. Living without a beard wouldn’t be possible, not for me. I don’t have a beard just because it´s cool or hip. For me it´s my identity, my lifestyle, I’m not myself without my beard. Paying no attention to the people that goes on about ”thats just for Hipsters” or ”the trend is Dead”. Sure the ”trend” might be gone but left are millons of people that realised that hey, why shave when there is pure awesomeness coming out from my face?
How do you groom your beard?
But, it takes time to really take care of your beard. Its not just fun and games. I use a combination of oils and balms, Mr Bear Family of course. Making sure that my beard get´s all the nutrions it needs. But that is not all. vitamins, healthy food and exercise are all key ingredients to make sure that your beard will look as good as possible!
